Figure Friday: The Mandalorian, Thundercats Ho!

Since we’re headed into the Labor Day weekend in the US and Canada (is it “Labour Day” in Canada?) there’s a good chance that this Figure Friday finds you trying to do as little as possible at work before knocking off for 3 uninterrupted days of non-work. That is, if you’re one of the lucky folks to still have a job since the COVID-19 is still running rampant and decimating the job market. Bet you thought I’d forgotten about that. Surprise, I haven’t. I may have finally gotten a haircut and grown the most ill-advised facial hair since Ted Cruz decided that growing a beard would be more manly than actually growing a spine…but I haven’t forgotten about COVID-19.

Now Batman has it too. Ain’t that some shit?

Anyways, if you’re still fortunate enough to have a job to BE stuck at right now AND you’re privileged enough to still be collecting toys, I’ve got some stuff for you to check out.

Figure Friday ahoy!

Regal Robot

Regal Robot are the purveyors of many fine pieces of upscale Star Wars merchandise and I’ve had my eye on their output for some time now. I’m waiting until I finally buy a house so I have a place I can install, say, a Jabba’s Dais Gargoyle Towel Ring and not worry about getting my security deposit back.

We actually got some GOOD news for a change this week (don’t get too excited the world is still totally screwed) and Disney deemed us worthy enough to share that The Mandalorian will be returning to Disney+ on October 30th. Coincidentally, that will be the same day I reactivate my Disney+ subscription. So, why not celebrate with a Mandalorian Armorer’s Mythosaur Wall Skull Replica? Or perhaps the much more affordable Mandalorian Mudhorn Signet Plaque?

Of course, if you’re an Original Trilogy traditionalist you could always get a Docking Bay 94 Plaque which is the best of ALL the docking bays featured in A New Hope.

ThunderCats Ultimates by Super7

Super7 is quickly wearing down my resolve by releasing super detailed, super articulated versions of toy properties I was kinda, sorta, maybe into in the 1980’s. I may have already missed the proverbial boat on their TMNT Ultimates line since it’s my understanding they produce their action figure runs based off of preorder figures (I could be wrong and am willing to be corrected) but it’s not too late to thunder, thunder, THUNDERCAT my way into financial ruin by ordering the first wave of ThunderCats Ultimates.

All your favorites are there, Lion-O, Pantrho, old decrepit Mumm-Ra, and generic bad guy Jackalman. I can only assume that the super jacked Mumm-Ra (and hopefully Ma-Mutt), Cheetara, and Tygra will be coming in future waves. Personally, I’ll be holding out for the Snarf, Wilykit, and Wilykat wave.

If I’m being honest, I’d love to see them do a SilverHawks line because I’d lose my mind over that. But not TigerSharks…that cartoon was lame.

And On That Note…

There, I made it through an entire column without talking about SH Figuarts and how cool the new Infinity War Doctor Strange release is.

Dammit.
