The Week In Horror: Rob Zombie, ‘Halloween,’ ‘Ash Vs. Evil Dead’

Slow news week? Maybe. Rob Zombie wrapped filming 3 From Hell. Can’t wait to hear more about that, since it continues the House of 1000 Corpses/Devil’s Rejects saga. Paul Tremblay’s novel Cabin at the End of the World has been optioned as a feature film. And we’re about halfway to Halloween! Speaking of…

New Halloween poster revealed

Is there any bigger news this week than Blumhouse revealing that simple, yet stunning poster for this October’s new Halloween? Between Twitter and Facebook I’ve surprisingly come across very little negativity about this new reboot/direct sequel to the original film.

I think by and large fans are remaining more hopeful for this film than they may have ten years ago. Especially considering John Carpenter is on board for this 40th anniversary film as producer and scoring the movie as well! Nick Castle returns as The Shape and Jamie Lee Curtis reprises her role as Laurie Strode.

Goodbye to Ash vs. Evil Dead

File under Bad News/Not Surprising; Starz Network’s FANTASTIC series Ash Vs The Evil Dead has been cancelled after three mind-blowingly hilarious and gory seasons. It’s lame, but at least we got three killer seasons of Bruce Campbell, Sam Raimi, and company especially after such a long gap since Army of Darkness. No one lost a step and the show did nothing to sully the cult classic status of the original three films.
