BBP! Fan Expo Canada: Day 4 Guide (Sunday)

Fan Expo CanadaToday is the last day of the 2016 version of Fan Expo Canada. Hopefully your body has held up because there’s still a lot to do today.

With it being a long weekend, many have set aside this day to bring their kids. And of course, the cos-players are still out in full effect at the convention, and those that thought they had enough yesterday are coming back today because they’ve realized that do want that one last thing, after all.

That makes Sunday, the fourth day, a pretty busy day inside the hallways and room of the Metropolitan Convention Centre.

Me? I’ve done my scouting over the last few days. And now I’m looking to hit some of the vintage vendors for some old time comics and graphic novels. Things that tickle my fancy, things to add to my collection.

So, from 10 AM to 5 PM today, here’s what Biff Bam Pop! thinks you should be checking out on Fan Expo Canada Day 4:

EXHIBITORS (All Day)

With today being the last day of the convention, the various exhibitors and vendors should be more amenable to pricing negotiations. They want to move their stock (ito your hands) so look for discount posters or be sure to ask if they can come down in price. They will.

CELEBRITY Q&A: Last Appearance in Canada By Comic Legend Stan Lee (11:00 AM, Room 105)

If you missed this event earlier in the convention, here’s your second shot. Stan Lee makes for a great speaker, and if you’re looking to be regaled with stories of old, and an enthusiasm for what’s still to come, Stan’s your man. Excelsior!

COMIC Q&A: The Legendry Frank Miller (11:30 AM, Room 102)

So this room will be jammed. Yesterday, Frank Miller talked about his Dark Knight experiences. Today, it’s more career spanning. From Daredevil, to Ronin, to Give Me Liberty to Sin City – this discussion will be one for the ages!

LIVE SCRIPT REAING: Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan (1 PM, Room 701B)

A reading from the best film ever made? Young. I feel young!

75 YEARS OF CANADIAN COMIC BOOKS (4 PM, Room 714)

If you’re into the history of the comic book medium like I am, well than this talk should have you interested. Exactly as its title suggests, it’ll cover the better part of a century of Canadian comics where you’ll see not only the evolution of the art form, but the progress of a country.

Batman The Killing JokeCELEBRITY Q&A: Batman & The Joker Live – Featuring Mark Hamill & Kevin Conroy (5 PM, Room 105)

Get here early, this place is going to be rocking. As mentioned in a previous Fan Expo 2016 column, this year’s edition has been a sort of informal nod to the 75th anniversary of Batman. I don’t think there’s any possible way to make that celebration any better than to have the iconic voices of the animated version of the Caped Crusader and his archenemy, be on stage together. Experiencing Hamill and Conroy in this setting will be weird and wonderful and absolutely memorable – and you need to be a part of it.

Hope you’ve enjoyed your Fan Expo Canada experience! See you again next year…time to rest our weary feet
