Fans of Luke Cage have something to celebrate. Netflix has released the key art for their upcoming original series Marvel’s Luke Cage in advance of the trailer’s debut on Tuesday.
After the runaway success of Daredevil and Jessica Jones, the third show in the Defenders series, Luke Cage, premieres globally on September 30 at 12:01 a.m. PT. (September 30 is a Friday so you might have to call in sick for work that day because you stayed up all night binge watching.)
If you loved Luke Cage’s character on Jessica Jones (especially because he was played by the insanely charismatic and good-looking Mike Colter from The Good Wife), you will be thrilled to follow the character’s evolution on this new series, where Cage relocates to Harlem and tries to pick up the pieces of his life after his failed relationship with Jessica Jones.
Other cast members on the show include Mahershala Ali (Cornell “Cottonmouth” Stokes), Alfre Woodard (Mariah Dillard), Simone Missick (Misty Knight), Theo Rossi (Shades), Frank Whaley (Rafael Scarfe) and Rosario Dawson (Claire Temple).
Don’t forget that Marvel’s Luke Cage will lead up to the future release of Marvel’s Iron Fist and ultimately, Marvel’s The Defenders.
Marvel’s Luke Cage is Executive Produced by series Showrunner Cheo Hodari Coker (SouthLAnd, Ray Donovan), Charles Murray (Roots) and Jeph Loeb (Marvel’s Daredevil, Marvel’s Jessica Jones), who also serves as Marvel’s Head of Television.
For more updates, make sure to follow the show on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. And keep your eyes peeled for the trailer, which goes live on Tuesday, August 9!
