SUMMARY:
Cumberbatch became a household name shortly after landing the role of Sherlock Holmes in BBC’s “Sherlock” TV Series (which launched in 2010). Since then, he’s not only gained a reputation for phenomenal acting in critically-acclaimed films (see the ‘Did You Know’ section above), but has also become a favorite among ‘geek fans’ everywhere for his roles in Star Trek, The Hobbit, and the upcoming Doctor Strange (coming in 2016). Plus, he’s looking to make a big impact in family-friendly fare as he takes on the iconic role of ‘Shere Khan’ in 2017’s Live-Action adventure film Jungle Book: Origins.

– I don’t watch BBC or PBS so my first real introduction to Cumberbatch was Star Trek. And, while I think he did a great job with the role of Khan (and Smaug for that matter), I’m really looking forward to seeing him carry a movie on his own as Dr. Stephen Strange.

Cumberbatch is well known for his voices and impersonations, on display here in this great clip on the Graham Norton Show along with his hilarious inability to say the word ‘penguins’ correctly…this is particularly ironic since Cumberbatch lent his voice to the animated feature “Penguins of Madagascar” (which was WAY funnier than anyone seems to be giving the film credit for):

For the love of Benedict Cumberbatch — I just think he’s an amazing actor and person. We joked on his Facebook page that he’d better come out with just trading cards of himself as nobody is going to part with them lol. Enjoy.
