The early box office numbers are in and, no surprise, it was another huge weekend for one film in particular. Here’s what went down:
Furious 7 held onto the top spot at the box office for a second weekend in a row, bringing in $60 million and raising its total to a simply outstanding $252 million. There’s not juice in this franchise’s tank – there’s rocket fuel. So far, Furious 7’s worldwide gross is $497 million, which is literally out of this world. The movie should continue to post huge numbers for the next few weeks until Avengers: Age of Ultron debuts.
As for the rest of the top five, Home came in second with $19.5 million, down just 28% from its previous week. The movie has grossed an excellent $130 million in three weeks. The Longest Ride debut in third place with a decent but spectacular $14 million. Get Hard was in fourth place with $8 million, while Cinderella closed things out in fifth place with $7.4 million.
So, to recap, here were our predictions:
1) Furious 7 – $65 million
2) The Longest Ride – $18 million
3) Home – $17 million
4) Cinderella – $8 million
5) Get Hard – $7 million
And here’s the early estimates:
1) Furious 7 – $60 million
2) Home – $19.5 million
3) The Longest Ride – $14 million
4) Get Hard – $8 million

Next weekend sees the release of Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2. I had a hard time writing that just now. Either way, be sure to come back on Friday to see our predictions.
