A couple of solid days of DVD suggestions coming your way over the next few days in our Holiday Gift Guide. Today, we respectfully suggest you check out what many consider to be the best genre show currently on television, one that amazingly is currently in its seventh season.
Supernatural is the story of Sam and Dean Winchester, two hunter brothers out to take down demons, vampires, werewolves and hot looking women who might be demons, vampires or werewolves. If you haven’t had the time to check out the CW series, consider it a supernatural Hardy Boys with better scripts and a wicked sense of humour.
Season 6 was released on DVD earlier this fall and isn’t a bad jumping on point for people who haven’t watched the series before. You’re immediately introduced to the tension and love between the two brothers, since Sam is back from Hell and Dean has been trying to settle down with the love of his life. Yep, it’s that kind of show. One that can be deadly serious when called, but also one that has a great sense of humour about itself and the horror genre. Episode 5, which takes on the while Twilight phenomenon with some razor-sharp satire, is a perfect example of just how great the series is.
Really, you can start at the beginning of Supernatural and not go wrong, but taken on its own, Supernatural Season 6 is a lot of fun and highly recommended. Order it from Amazon.ca here.
