Trailer Time: Scotty G and Andy B on Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen and X-Men Origins: Wolverine

Scotty G writes:

I just watched the teaser trailer for Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen, and I’m not looking forward to it. For two minutes and fifteen seconds, you see a lot of things getting blown up, but there’s not much in the way of plot revealed. Then again, I am talking about a Transformers movie, and plot is secondary to the special effects. From the trailer it appears that Michael Bay will be continuing his rapid edit style, which was my big complaint from the first movie [that I couldn’t tell what was happening on screen because it was edited to quickly]. Anyway, check it out here and let us know what you think!

Andy B chimes in:

I saw the trailer for Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen in front of Friday The 13th the other night and I had the same opinion as Scotty G. It’s hard to be impressed with what you’re seeing when it all happens so quickly. I hated the first Transformers film. I found it boring, with a half-assed story and poor performances from the lot of actors. I’m sure I’ll see Revenge Of the Fallen in theaters this summer, but I can’t say this leaves me excited. Not like the X-Men Origins: Wolverine commercial that hit this weekend, which you can check out here. I loved the comic book Wolverine: Origin, and these 60 seconds clearly demonstrates the inspiration that story had on the upcoming film. How will it all turn out? We’ll find out Friday May 1st.

  1. harsh, dude. that you actually think wolverine will meet expectations and xformers will fall short is folly of the highest order. were you into the st:tng episodes with the 20k budget where everyone just stood around 10 forward and toasted the profundity of the prime directive, or did you instead fancy the episodes with the 1mill budget in which the romulans and the borgs ganged up on the enty and kicked its ass for 40 minutes? if you say the former, you shouldn't be judgin' xformers. shia was great, which is pretty hard for me to admit . fox did what she was supposed to, nothing more/less — eye candy that you could fix your slow eyes on. yes, the action was a tad fast, but it was a kickass movie, and the 2nd looks even better. as for wolverine? it may not have brett ratner tied to it, but it's as likely to be a homerun as a pitch to a blind emu that's bound in barbed wire and pinned beneath an oversized anvil.don't go to xformers 2. bay & paramount don't need your charity. and your bbp loyalists don't wanna hear someone lament about the shallow plot in a toy-turned-to-cartoon-turned-to-a-freakin-movie movie.it's effin transformers, dude. the decepticons are gonna wipe your blog clean.
