Figure Friday: Knight Rider K.I.T.T. and Michael Knight Action Figure 1/12 Scale Limited Edition Set by Factory Entertainment and Ramen Toy

If you were filling a showroom with iconic pop culture cars, K.I.T.T. from Knight Rider would be one of the main attractions. The black Pontiac Firebird Trans Am with the red electronic “eye” on the front bumper was one half of one of the greatest crime-fighting duos of the early 80s. Lots of cars have character, but Knight Industries Two Thousand, or K.I.T.T. for easy reference, was a character.

A detailed 1:12 scale model of the K.I.T.T. car from the Knight Rider series, featuring a black exterior and visible interior details.

A super-intelligent, self-driving car loaded with gadgets and speaking like a distinguished gentleman. It was like they transformed James Bond into a sleek Trans Am. Each week, K.I.T.T. and David Hasselhoff’s Michael Knight solved mysteries and thwarted evil doers. The ladies (and Germans) wanted The Hoff. The guys wanted The K.I.T.T.

I missed out on Kenner’s Knight Rider toys in the early ’80s. Fortunately, over 40 years later, Factory Entertainment and Ramen Toy are teaming up to bring us an officially licensed 1/12 scale K.I.T.T. and Michael Knight. Expected to ship in Q2 of 2027, this 17-inch-long K.I.T.T. is packed with lights, authentic sounds and can transform into Super Pursuit Mode.

Ramen Toys has been producing 1/12-scale vehicles for a few years now. They’re the same company that offered a price-conscious alternative to the failed HasLab Hell Charger. This offering is a bit steeper compared to what we’re used to seeing. No doubt the added cost comes from the license and the Hasselhoff likeness. The figure looks great, and I appreciate the fact that it’s included and not a separate offering. You can’t ask for much else in a Knight Rider collection outside of perhaps K.I.T.T.’s evil twin: K.A.R.R. I have to imagine that if this offering goes well, we’ll also see K.A.R.R. at some point down the road.

You can preorder K.I.T.T. at Factory Entertainment and Big Bad Toy Shop.
