Sometimes spirits can become attached to a personal object, and sometimes you might accidentally take that item home with you. Oh no! What do we do with our haunted purchases? Who do we call?

Haunted Collector, Annabelle, and Unwanted Guests
I used to watch a show called Haunted Collector, starring John Zaffis and his team, Brian J. Cano, Beth Ezzo, Aimee Zaffis and Chris Zaffis. The series, which aired in 2011, followed John and his paranormal team as they investigated alleged haunted locations. John Zaffis is the nephew of Ed and Lorraine Warren. He is a yearly guest at the New Jersey Paraunity Expo in Woodbridge, New Jersey.

What John and his team usually did was to investigate the causes of paranormal disturbances. Most of the time, the hauntings began with artifacts that were either originally part of the home… or were purchased or given to the homeowners. After locating the cause of the paranormal disturbance, John Zaffis would remove the items from the location and take them to his haunted relics museum in a barn on his property in Connecticut. There, John would secure the haunted items with salt and holy water, then enclose them behind glass.
The Objects
How an item becomes haunted is not well understood, but the prevailing view is that the object has somehow absorbed negative energy. This might be caused by traumatic events. Sometimes spirits become attached to an object if that item held a strong personal connection to that person while they were alive. We might just be dealing with a friendly spirit who is attached to its favourite belonging.
Speaking of attachments, I am of the school of thought that only items, not people, can have an entity attached to them. As a Psychic/Medium, I often have clients come to me claiming that another psychic told them that there was an evil entity or spirit connected to them. Said psychics then demanded large sums of money to remove the attachment. I will tell you what I tell my clients. If any psychic/medium tells you that a spirit or demon is attached to you without your permission…they are full of shit!!! We are divine and powerful souls. We are as powerful as the angels, and if somehow a negative spirit has followed you home and is now causing trauma for you and your family…you can command it to leave. It must obey. I give my clients two prayers to say, and I will share them with you at the end of this review. I do not charge for this service.
As careful as John Zaffis is with haunted items in his show Haunted Collector, unfortunately, there are people out there with enough money to do dangerous things. I’m talking about comedian Matt Rife’s purchase of Ed and Lorraine Warren’s home and museum.
Among the collection is the infamous Annabelle doll. The doll is featured in a few Conjuring horror films. The Warrens, who were demonologists working for the Roman Catholic Church, were fully aware of how dangerous that doll is. What I never understood was why the Church never performed an exorcism on the doll. I don’t know why Matt Rife thought it would be fun to buy the museum, but I do hope that he will get proper instructions from professionals on how to protect himself and others. We have enough evil in this world already, and let me remind you that demons have never caused as much horrific damage to this world as we humans have in the name of religion.
Conclusion
This past summer, I had two separate families come to me because they were dealing with terrifying events in their homes. I won’t give out too much information to protect their identity, and my vow of confidentiality, but I will tell you about the one family.
They were dealing with a troubled family member, and this had put increased stress on the rest of the family. The real problems began when that person brought home an item purchased at an estate sale. Things got worse. Spiritual and physical attacks began. I advised the family to say two prayers every day, in every room, including the attic and basement, for seven days. They were also required to say in each room, “This house and everyone in it belongs to God. You must go, now!”

The situation worsened until I advised the father to throw the purchased object into the river. The good news is that things have returned to normal, and they will seek medical help for the troubled family member. They will also have their parish priest come and bless the house.
Can you bring home a spirit with your yard sale or estate purchase? To prevent this from happening, you should always pray over the object before leaving the store and once more before entering your house. If a haunted object somehow sneaks in via a gift… say the prayers. If this doesn’t work and the situation gets scary… then my suggestion is to pray over the object, break it, and then throw it into the river.
Remember…we are divine and powerful souls. Our voice has power for good.
