Welcome to another instalment of What’s Going On, Biff Bam Pop’s weekly new music roundup. This week’s mix has it all: pop-punk firepower from SoCal’s Super Sometimes, a raunchy club banger courtesy of Toronto’s TyriqueOrDie, and Mayday Parade slowing things down on their tender new single. And trust me, that’s just scratching the surface. As always, if you dig what you hear, be sure to stream and follow these artists.
Autoheart – London-based queer indie pop trio Autoheart return with Heartlands, their fourth album, out now via O/R Records/AWAL, alongside the video for new single “Denial.” Self-produced and mixed by Danton Supple (Coldplay, U2), the record is packed with slick pop with heart. Inspired by their 2024 U.S. tour, Heartlands is a love letter to their devoted “Heartheads” community. The band embarks on their biggest tour yet: 36 North American dates, including Toronto, Montreal, and Vancouver. Stay tuned for more on that!

Revis – Post-grunge veterans REVIS return with Killing Time, their long-awaited sophomore album, out November 7. Formed by childhood friends Justin Holman and Robert Davis in Carbondale, Illinois, the band first made waves back in 2003 with their debut Places for Breathing, which produced hits “Caught in the Rain” and “Seven.” After years of setbacks, scrapped albums, and brief reunions, Holman and Davis are back, this time joined by drummer David Piribauer, and self-releasing their most powerful work yet. If the anthemic title track is anything to go by, this album is going to be hot!

TyriqueOrDie – Toronto-based electronic/hip-hop artist and vocalist TyriqueOrDie drops his new single “Sex In The Mosh,” a high-energy, Korg M1-driven banger with a thick bassline and Ty’s razor-sharp flow. Produced by darius with Sam Van Horne, the track is built to ignite mosh pits worldwide and get pulses racing. Apparently, the track is based on a true story. Saucy! Backed by Universal Music Canada, “Sex In The Mosh” follows TyriqueOrDie’s breakout hit “U Know How Dis Go,” which we featured in What’s Going On earlier this summer.

Super Sometimes – Pure Noise Records has signed rising San Diego pop-punk outfit Super Sometimes, formerly New Aesthetic. Blending skate-punk urgency, big anthemic hooks, and Tumblr-era emo vibes, the band delivers their new single and video “Say Something Now,” featured on the From Then & Now compilation alongside a Box Car Racer cover. Known for high-energy shows and an irreverent DIY spirit, the young quartet is quickly emerging as one of SoCal’s brightest new punk voices. The pop-punk revival isn’t in danger of slowing down anytime soon.

Mayday Parade – Veteran Tallahassee rockers Mayday Parade continue their 20th anniversary celebration with Sad, the second album in their self-released trilogy, due out October 3rd. Previewed by nostalgic new single “Under My Sweater,” this album slows the tempo from its predecessor, Sweet, leaning into atmosphere, introspection, and soaring melodies. Produced by Zack Odom and Kenneth Mount, Sad showcases the band’s softer, more ambitious side. The Florida emo mainstays will tour this fall with All Time Low and play this year’s When We Were Young festival.
