San Diego Comic Con. Everyone looks forward to what on Earth could be announced for their respective fandoms. Be it a new season of a show, a new update for a game, or a new figure of a character. Sometimes, it’s a fandom that was starved for content for over 13 years until an anime was released in 2023. Maybe that fandom also got a teaser for a new video game releasing in 2026.
If you didn’t guess, this is about the Scott Pilgrim franchise, and that video game is Scott Pilgrim: EX. I’m one of the biggest Scott Pilgrim fans you’ll ever meet, so I’ve got some things to say about the new announcements.
The biggest thing we got at the Scott Pilgrim: EX panel was the announcements of the physical editions. Three physical editions were announced.
The Standard Edition, which is a standard video game, only includes the game.
The Deluxe Adventure Edition, which also comes with a deluxe box, a tie-in comic by Scott Pilgrim creator Bryan Lee O’Malley, as well as a CD of the music of the game, written by Anamanaguchi.
And the Ultimate Adventure Edition, which includes everything above as well as a replica console box for the ‘Game Goose’, two reversible posters, a hardcover artbook/game guide, a gorgeous diorama featuring figures of Scott and Ramona, and a pixelated, two-sided commemorative coin.
Though we don’t know much about the game yet, I can already tell that we Scott Pilgrim fans will be happily surprised when Scott Pilgrim: EX arrives in early 2026. And at least we didn’t have to wait another 13 years for more!
