Figure Friday: E.A. Henson is not Allergic to Wizard Cat Figures BY JXK.STUDIO

Part of getting older is finally admitting to yourself that you might just have seasonal allergies. The weather in my small corner of (redacted), Michigan has been all over the spectrum this last week, everything is in bloom, and my eyes are so swollen that I can scarcely see the screen to type this column.

I also set a reminder in my calendar to write this piece (not that I’d ever forget, but my various neuroses make it so my reminders have reminders)…or so I thought. I knew I had to write this,s and I put something in my calendar…I just don’t know when. At one point today upon going outside I sneezed so hard I thought I gave myself another hernia. That’s where I’m at right now.

This morning, I began stacking allergy medication in either a full-blitz attempt to feel better or shed my physical form and transcend to a higher plane of existence. Neither of those happened, but I did make possibly one of the dumbest toy purchases of my life while cranked out of my head on generic Claritin and Sudafed. Stay tuned for my next piece to find out what I did. Now that’s how you make an appointment with the reader.

Now that I’ve wrung about 200 words out of inflating my suffering for (hopefully) comedic effect, it’s Figure Friday. Let’s get it on.

Wizard Cat Figure BY JXK.STUDIO

If it wasn’t already readily apparent, I’m not firing on all cylinders this week. I also wasn’t 100% sure this was my week to write Figure Friday until I checked just now. So, believe me when I say it was an absolute godsend when a pal texted me this delightful tchotchke. Also, believe me when I say I went deep in the bench to shoehorn tchotchke into that sentence. I misspelled it so badly the first time spellcheck didn’t even know what I was going for…Then I remembered that the “t” was silent. Yiddish is weird.

At any rate, I’m absolutely enraptured with these Wizard Cat figures by JXK Studio. These are wizards I can believe in. These are wizards that were likely not created by some horrible millionaire bigot and no major conglomerate won’t try to keep the franchise artificially alive with spin-offs no one cares about or by forcing a reboot when they’re barely a decade beyond the original franchise’s ending. But I digress.

Expand your figure collection with this Wizard Cat figure by JxK Studio! This figure features an adorable cat wearing a wizard hat and robe while holding a broom. This non-articulated figure stands around 6 inches tall and is sure to be a magical addition to any collection!

Box Contents

  • Wizard cat figure
  • Magic broom

There are four different variations of cats to choose from: Black, White, Orange, and Brownish (?), but my preferred version of “grey dumbass” is not included. As a cat person approaching middle age, it’s probably time I started collecting cat art. These are just esoteric enough that I’ll still be able to pass as a not-weird person should I have a “normal” caller visit me at my house.

You can preorder these cats now for an expected October 2025 delivery. Order a whole clowder of them if you want!
