The Cure – After a 16-year wait, we’ve got new music from The Cure! New single “Alone” is out now and serves as the first taste of what’s to come from their highly anticipated album Songs Of A Lost World, due out on November 1st via Fiction/Polydor. This marks the band’s first collection of new material since 2008’s 4:13 Dream. Fans initially got their first listen of the haunting new single when it was played at every concert during the band’s Shows Of A Lost World tour in 2022 and 2023. Recorded at Rockfield Studios in Wales, the forthcoming album features other songs performed during the tour, including “A Fragile Thing” and “Endsong.”
Speaking about “Alone”, Robert Smith says: “It’s the track that unlocked the record; as soon as we had that piece of music recorded I knew it was the opening song, and I felt the whole album come into focus. I had been struggling to find the right opening line for the right opening song for a while, working with the simple idea of ‘being alone’, always in the back of my mind this nagging feeling that I already knew what the opening line should be… as soon as we finished recording I remembered the poem ‘Dregs’ by the English poet Ernest Dowson… and that was the moment when I knew the song – and the album – were real.”

Sebastian Gaskin – Toronto-based, Tataskweyak Cree Nation-raised multi-instrumentalist and singer-songwriter Sebastian Gaskin just dropped his most personal track yet with the single “Brown Man,” out now via Ishkōdé Records/Universal Music Canada. Self-produced alongside Murray Pulver, the track was written in the weeks following the murder of George Floyd and features Gaskin on guitar, and dives deep into themes of identity and resilience. With the single arriving just in time for National Day for Truth & Reconciliation, “Brown Man” showcases heavy unflinching lyrics like “I am a brown man, my skin ain’t white,” highlighting the struggle for recognition and healing.
About “Brown Man,” Gaskin states: “How do you navigate a world that’s been built to work against you? The people who are put in power are the same ones that will put you in the ground with a slip of the tongue. Why do I feel the need to mask my emotions in every room I walk into? I am involuntarily reminded to check my facial expressions in public every few minutes to avoid frightening people I pass by. I reduce myself to become more palatable within modern society. I Am A Brown Man. My Skin Ain’t White.”

The track embodies the carefree nightlife vibe and dance floor euphoria that fans have come to love from Kylie. Longtime collaborator Sophie Muller directed the accompanying music video, shot in Budapest. “Lights Camera Action” also comes with a slew of Poppers O’Clock club-ready remixes from Confidence Man, Zach Witness, and JACONDA.

Preston Pablo – JUNO Award-winning pop sensation Preston Pablo is back with his new single “One Last Song,” out now via 31 East/Universal Music Canada. After teasing the track on social media, Preston’s fans have eagerly anticipated this new release. Produced by Banx & Ranx, Ruffsound, and RealMind, the single features poignant lyrics and irresistible melodies that capture a bittersweet moment of letting go. Following the success of “Dance Alone,” “One Last Song” solidifies Preston’s status as one of Canada’s top pop artists.
Preston explains: “This song represents a moment of hopelessness. It’s a bittersweet realization that something isn’t working between two people. Instead of dwelling on the sadness of the situation, it focuses on one last moment of happiness before letting go.”
