Welcome to a fun Memorial Day instalment of What’s Going On, Biff Bam Pop’s weekly new music roundup. This week, we’ve got an array of new releases including a hot banger from Nelly Furtado to the emotional pop of Peach PRC, the island vibes of Shenseea, and the infectious energy of LP Giobbi. But that’s not all – we also have an exciting remix featuring current R&B sensation Muni Long teaming up with the iconic Mariah Carey. LP Giobbi – DJ-producer LP Giobbi is back with “Feel,” her new collaboration with British singer-songwriter Jacob Banks. Just in time for summer festival season, “Feel” features Banks crooning over Giobbi’s trademark piano melody and a hard thumping beat. LP Giobbi will be on the road hitting up festivals throughout the US, UK, and Europe. On the new single, LP Giobbi says: “Getting to collaborate with artists outside of the dance space is always amazing, but to be able to work with Jacob Banks was a dream come true. His voice transcends genres and it allowed me to really get creative when building the track around his vocals. A new chapter starts now, I hope you enjoy!”

Nelly Furtado – Whoa, Nelly! Canadian pop icon Nelly Furtado is back in a major with “Love Bites” featuring Tove Lo and SG Lewis, her new single out now via Nelstar/21 Entertainment/Universal Music Canada/Republic Records/Casablanca Records/Polydor Records. Produced by SG Lewis and co-written by Lewis, Furtado, and Tove Love, “Love Bites” is a big sultry dance anthem released just in time for the summer. Nelly Furtado is fresh off an electrifying guest appearance at Coachella and a stellar NPR Tiny Desk performance. Summer 2024 is shaping up to be Nelly Furtado season.
“I felt called back to music from the DJ community,” says Furtado. “DJs were remixing my songs at concerts, clubs, and on social media, and I realized how much people like to dance and escape to my music. It’s the healthiest vice you can have, and I love the opportunity to write music that lets people escape more than anything.”

Muni Long – GRAMMY-award winning R&B superstar Muni Long has been everywhere with her hit “Made For Me.” Originally released last fall, the track has maintained a viral presence and demonstrated Muni Long’s staying power. The new “Made For Me” remix, out now via Supergiant Records/Def Jam Recordings, sees the diva Mariah Carey jumping on the platinum smash. The anthemic duet blends two of the best voices of their respective generations. Speaking on the new collaboration, Mariah Carey states: “When I got the call from JD to work on the ‘Made For Me’ remix, I said yes immediately. Muni is an amazing writer and performer, and this collaboration is a match made in heaven!”

Shenseea – Jamaican music sensation Shenseea is setting the scene on fire again with her sophomore album Never Gets Late Here, out now via Rich Immigrants/Interscope Records/Universal Music Canada. The new album sees the GRAMMY-nominated artist collaborating with luminaries like Wizkid, Coi Leray, Anitta, Masicka, and Di Genius, Under the expert curation of producer London on Da Track, Shenseea blends her dancehall roots with hip hop, R&B, and pop influences across fourteen hot tracks. A particular highlight is “Flava” featuring the aforementioned Coi Leray, a baddie anthem tailor-made for the summer.
What went into making this album? According to Shenseea: “This album was curated with timeless records that appeal to many cultures. Still maintaining my Jamaican authenticity, I infused my affinity for other genres such as Pop and R&B. My fans will find summer anthems and songs to bring them motivation, joy and inspiration. I’m excited to share this with the world!”

Peach PRC – Australian pop superstar Peach PRC is getting serious on “Touchy Subject,” her new single out now via Republic Records. After hitting the top spot on Australia’s ARIA Album Chart last year with her Manic Dream Pixie EP, “Touchy Subject” is a fitting way to kick off a new chapter for Peach PRC. The emotionally charged track sees the singer waxing poetic on a relationship that breaks down due to shared trauma and the ensuing bittersweet aftermath. The pink pop pixie is kicking off a headlining run of North American shows in June on her The Secret PRC Tour. There’s good news for Toronto fans of Peach PRC. She’ll play two shows at Annabel’s on June 19th and 20th.
