We’re a little over a month out from the release of Godzilla x Kong: The Lost Empire and the toys have started to hit the shelves! Jada Toys has the license and has brought one of my favorite gimmicks to their Remote Control Godzilla with Heat-Ray Breath. With the magic of some water and lights and sound, Godzilla blasts anything that gets in his way. I couldn’t resist the urge to bring home Big G to start my own kaiju fight club!

Experience the ultimate adventure with the Remote-Control Godzilla with heat-ray breath from the movie Godzilla X Kong! This larger-than-life toy lets you control Godzilla as it walks, stomps, and whips its tail around. Witness the awe-inspiring light-up heat-ray breath as it illuminates the battlefield with its iconic roar. Stretching almost 2 feet long, Godzilla is ready to win the next fight. The user-friendly remote control allows you to maneuver Godzilla effortlessly, bringing legendary battles to life. Crafted with meticulous attention to detail, this Godzilla RC is great for play and display.
The heat-ray breath isn’t a new innovation in toys. The mist effect has been a feature on model trains for years. Jakks recently used it with similar results on their Super Mario Bros. Movie Bowser figure. It’s always the simplest tricks that work so effectively in capturing my imagination. Did I need a remote controlled Godzilla? Absolutely not. Did I need a remote controlled Godzilla that blasts you with a heat ray? You’re god damned right I did! Maybe it’s the entire presentation that steals my heart? With the touch of a button on the footprint shaped controller, Godzilla bursts into action. The sound of his heat-ray charging up fills the air as his dorsal plates start to glow from the tip of his tail to his mouth. As he sprays his heat-ray mist, his mouth glows red and the trademark Godzilla roar can be heard. It’s a thing of beauty.
Godzilla is big and bulky, so don’t go in with expectations that you’ll be setting any landspeed records with your R/C Baby G. He lumbers to and fro as his long tail sways behind him. The remote only has controls for walking forward. Steering comes with the assistance of a tail swinging feature. A basic roar and the heat-ray blast round out the remote controls.
This will inevitably be the only thing I remember about Godzilla x Kong: The Lost Empire in a year’s time, and I ain’t mad at that. This is a fun toy at a reasonable price. I’ve been chasing the dog and battling The Iron Giant and giggling like a little kid the entire time. I don’t ask much out of my toys. Jada has over delivered on a good time with this one. You’ll have fun till the batteries run out. Make sure you’ve got some extras on-hand!
