The resurgence of Eli Roth (Thanksgiving, Cabin Fever) continues with Borderlands, the cinematic adaptation of the popular video game. Director and co-writer Roth oversees a big name cast, including Cate Blanchett as Lilith, an outlaw who returns to her home planet of Pandora (which looks like a yard sale at Burning Man) to help Atlas (Edgar Ramirez) find his missing daughter. Also roaming the desert wastelands are Kevin Hart, Jamie Lee Curtis, and the robot Claptrap, voiced by Jack Black. One-liners abound and things go boom in the first full trailer for Borderlands, which you may as well watch while you’re here.
Borderlands is scheduled for release on August 9, 2024, from Lionsgate.
