The Anime Corner x In The Game: “Another Code: Recollection” on Nintendo Switch

Hey everyone! It’s me, Anya. Today’s edition of The Anime Corner is a special one! I had the opportunity to play Another Code: Recollection for the Nintendo Switch.

Here’s the game’s description:

Sleuth your way to the truth across two mystery adventures – fully enhanced for Nintendo Switch – in Another Code: Recollection.

Solve riddles, gather clues and investigate the traces of Ashley Mizuki Robins’s past to uncover the true fates of her parents across two stories. Set sail for Blood Edward Island in Two Memories, then pick up two years later on a camping trip to Lake Juliet in Journey into Lost Memories.

Even though I wasn’t a fan of the controls, which I found difficult to get the hang of, a story is what makes a game good for me, and Another Code: Recollection definitely has a fun one!

In Another Code: Recollection, you play as Ashley, a 13 year old girl who had been told her father had died for as long as she could remember. Even though she was certain he was dead, she received a package from him, sparking a need to go to Blood Edward Island and uncover the truth. This leads her on an incredible journey across two stories.

You may not know, but this Nintendo Switch game is actually a fully enhanced version of the original Nintendo DS and Wii games. That’s means it includes new and improved visuals, fully 3D explorable environments, new voice acting, puzzles, music, and lots more more. I never played the originals so I can’t compare them to the new versions, but I would say the game looks and sounds great.

For me, Another Code: Recollection seemed like a mix of Pokemon Lets Go! (the so-so controls) and The Legend Of Zelda: Breath of the Wild (the excellent, immersive stories). I think this game would be enjoyed by casual players and especially by big lore fans as well!

If this sounds interesting, I’d highly recommend checking out Another Code: Recollection!
