I love working for Biff Bam Pop! because I get the amazing opportunity to review loads of films and series before they are seen by the general public. I was offered a chance to review the entire first season of Amazon Studios’ Mr. & Mrs. Smith. Unlike the 2005 film that starred Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie…our John and Jane knows exactly what they are signing up for…or do they?
The series was co-created by Donald Glover and Francesca Sloane and stars Donald Glover and Maya Erskine, along with many big-name guest appearances.
Now, I know what you are thinking. How can they improve on the original? Well, they did! Both John (Glover) and Jane ( Maya Erskine) sign up with a mysterious company that may or may not be the CIA. They are given new identities, a house, weapons, money, wedding rings, and a cat named Max. Not only do they have to adjust to working together as assassins, but they also need to learn about each other. It’s like an arranged marriage with guns.
In this eight-episode series, which is packed equally with explosions, stabbings, kidnappings, and some very strange neighbors, John and Jane must learn to trust each other if they are to stay alive.
Conclusion
I was hooked on episode one and binged-watched all eight episodes. The acting is top-tiered and there are a lot of funny scenes, which I don’t want to spoil for you. Amazon Prime will premier all eight episodes of Mr. & Mrs. Smith on February 2nd. Be there! I give it a 5 Star rating.
