Biff Bam Pop! Kids Presents In The Game: The BBP! Princess Reviews “Pokémon Legends: Areceus”

Wow, it’s been a big few weeks here at Biff Bam Pop! HQ, mainly because I’m really excited that the brand new Pokémon game has finally come out! I’m going to tell you all about it.

The name of the game is Pokémon Legends: Arceus, it’s the first open world Pokémon game. If you don’t know what open world means, it means that you can adventure around the world and go wherever you want, or most places, anyway. The usual Pokémon games have certain areas that you can go to specifically, so Arceus is different because there are no specific pathways.

The story for the game is this – if you’ve ever played a Pokémon game that takes place in the Sinnoh Region, the Hisui Region is kind of like Sinnoh from the past. In Pokémon Legends: Arceus, you create your own character. You choose what they look like, and then you choose your name, and you can visit a clothing store and a hair salon to change up your appearance. Your character falls out of a big time rift and you meet the Pokémon Professor Laventon (he’s the one that finds you). He asks you to help him finish the Pokedex (which is filing all the Pokémon), and that’s how the adventure starts. Part of the game is that you have to feed Pokémon certain foods to be able to go around the Hisui Region; when you feed them, you get to ride them. It’s actually pretty cool, and is probably my favourite part of the game. Your character is part of the Galaxy Team, which I assume will later turn into Team Galactic in Pokémon: Diamond and Pearl. All we know about the timeline is that it is set a long time before Diamond and Pearl. My dad asked me if the game is like a prequel, and I say that it is.

Here’s what I like about Pokémon Legends: Arceus – I like the open world concept, it’s so different from every other Pokémon game. I like being able to catch the Pokémon without having to get into battles. A lot of people have been complaining about the graphics, but I think they’re pretty good. I like how nice it looks when you’re just riding a Pokémon in the mountains, because the mountains have nice views, like in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

The game play in Pokémon Legends: Arceus is great as well. I really like how easy it is to choose to battle the Pokémon or walk away, because sometimes you just don’t feel like being in a battle. The controls are good and easy to pick up and play.

If you haven’t played Pokemon games before, you’d be fine playing Pokémon Legends: Arceus. In fact, it’s not a bad place to start for some new to Pokémon. This game ranks as my favourite Pokémon game on the Switch so far, because I feel like I play open world games better than non-open world games. Although Pokémon Sword and Shield, another game I loved, didn’t have you going in specific directions, it felt pretty guided.

So go pick up Pokémon Legends: Arceus – I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.
