Trailer Time: Netflix’s ‘Pacific Rim: The Black’

2021 sure is turning out to be a good year for kaiju fans, huh? With Legendary’s Godzilla vs Kong up for release this spring, the exciting announcement of Toho’s Shin Ultraman project in Japan (also slated for release this year), and an upcoming Kong: Skull Island animated series at Netflix, there’s lots to love for fans of city-ruining giant monsters.

It seems as though Netflix is all-in on the anime adaptations of existing properties, with the aforementioned Kong series, as well as adaptations of Tomb Raider and Yasuke on tap as well. The streaming giant dropped a trailer for their animated take on Guillermo Del Toro’s Pacific Rim franchise today, called The Black, which will be available to Netflix subscribers on March 4, 2021. We’ve got the goods below, so check it out!

The show will be comprised of seven half-hour episodes and will tell the story of two siblings, Hayley and Taylor, who are searching for their parents in an Australia that’s infested with kaiju. Greg Johnson and Craig Kyle will be showrunners for the series.

Pacific Rim: The Black will premiere on Netflix on March 4, 2021.
