Happy Monday, fiends! Here’s your Week in Horror…
Is this horror news? I don’t think so, but I know a bunch of nerds that are frigging excited for the new Ghostbusters trailer dropping today. Cool, have fun with that. After everything involving the last Ghostbusters film, including racists harassing Leslie Jones on Twitter, I’m so completely turned off by the very concept of this sequel/do-over, that I won’t be seeing it. And a lot of you “fans” (not all fans, I know! I’m not stupid) don’t deserve a new film after your disgusting behaviour either. I know, it wasn’t a great movie, but neither was part 2, so kiss my ass with your “childhood ruined” takes.
We have the official title for the third The Conjuring film – The Devil Made Me Do It. This one will be directed by The Curse of La Llorona‘s Michael Chaves with James Wan producing. La Llorona and the latest Annabelle are the only films from Conjuring-verse that I haven’t seen yet, but from what I’ve read Chaves is good even if La Llorona is a bit flawed.
Here’s a cool bit of news. Earlier this year when I interviewed Larry Fessenden about his modern-day remake of Frankenstein, Depraved, he talked about his love for a 1973 made-for-TV film, Frankenstein; The True Story, well the stars have apparently aligned and Scream Factory will be releasing the film’s debut on Blu-ray, March 24th, 2020! No word on extras yet, but it’s worth getting excited for as the two part mini-series was/is one of the most faithful adaptations of Mary Shelley’s groundbreaking work. Now do Warhol’s Flesh For Frankenstein!
