The Week In Horror: The Ridge, Zombieland 2, Robocop Returns + More

Happy Monday, post-Friday the 13th! Did you marathon horror’s greatest franchise or check out Joe Bob Briggs’ 24 hour marathon on Shudder? We wound up watching Jason X and yea, I wish I’d gone with 3D or Final Chapter instead.

Biff Bam Pop’s own Jeffery X Martin’s new book, The Ridge, will drop on July 27th from Shadow Work Publishing. Here’s my review with link to purchase.

Looks like Zombieland 2 is officially a go with all stars returning for a 2019! For all my zombie fatigue, this is great news.

Not horror, but I don’t know any horror fans that don’t love it, so it counts as horror-adjacent, besides I love it and I’m going to talk about it anyway; ROBOCOP RETURNS! With the original writing duo of Ed Neumeier  and Michael Miner back in the writers’ chairs and Neil Blomkamp on board as director and Returns being a direct sequel to the original 1987 film…I’m incredibly excited. Robocop is a top 5 movie for me and I really like Blomkamp’s work. I’d say the similarities in themes between the Robocop remake and Blomkamp’s Chappie makes him both a surprising choice and a smart one. He clearly knows this type of world, but considering he’s mined it before I’m anxious to see where he takes Returns.

And don’t forget, To Hell And Back: The Kane Hodder Story from Dread Central presents is now available on DVD, Blu-ray, and streaming on Amazon!
