One of my favorite films is coming to television as a new TV series. From the minds of Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez, comes a serial version on the fledgling El Rey Network of From Dusk till Dawn. Meet me after the jump for a sneak peek.
The feature From Dusk till Dawn hit theaters in 1996, written by Tarantino and directed by Rodriguez, and starring George Clooney, Harvey Keitel, and QT among others. In the film, serial killers the Gecko brothers, with a kidnapped family in tow, encounter a nest of vampires south of the border. It’s a classic of the genres and spawned a sequel and a prequel, as well as comics and videogames.
The TV series stars, among others, Don Johnson, Wilmer Valderrama, Jake Busey, and Robert Patrick. It will follow roughly the same story as the original movie while exploring concepts and mythology from the prequel and sequel as well. The series debuts on Rodriguez’ El Rey Network on March 11, 2014.
