Take a look around and you’ll find some stellar television showing up not just on cable channels like HBO and Showtime, but network broadcasters as well. For my money, no show last season was more chilling and clever than Bryan Fuller’s awesome Hannibal. How good is it? How about this – as classic a performance Anthony Hopkins has given as Dr. Lecter in Silence of the Lambs, as much as he once defined the character, for me, Mads Mikkelsen is now MY Hannibal. He gives the character a cool and calm demeanour, as we watch investigator Will Graham (the equally brilliant Hugh Dancy) uncover a series of crimes with Lecter’s help. The first season of Hannibal was almost a buddy cop show. Almost.
The trailer for the second season of the NBC series has now dropped, and offers lots of hints as to what we’ll be seeing. Colour me hugely excited for this (and the news today that American Mary star Katherine Isabelle has been added as Margot Verger makes my anticipation that much greater.

Hannibal is my favorite show! Creeps hubby out even though he loves The Walking Dead and Game of Thrones and so Hannibal night is mine alone to enjoy without all the questions and puking sounds going on next to me LOL
It’s been a long time since I’ve read the books and I did buy the Red Dragon for my Kindle last year, but part of me just wants to enjoy this version on its own.
