Selma Blair (Cruel Intentions, Kath & Kim) has been cast in Charlie Sheen‘s new FX comedy, Anger Management. According to TVLine, she will play a therapist and possible love interest to Sheen’s character, a former baseball player with rage issues who himself ends up as an unconventional anger management therapist. Shawnee Smith, who is best known as playing Amanda in Saw, was recently cast as Sheen’s ex-wife. A premiere date has yet to be announced, but the series has already received a 10-episode order from FX.
I don’t know if I can watch Boardwalk Empire anymore after they killed off MY FAVOURITE CHARACTER (I’m still not over this)!!! The show has announced they have cast Bobby Cannavale (Third Watch, Nurse Jackie) as Gyp Rosetti, a new rival to Nucky. Also to add to the slew of characters killed off last season, Paz De La Huerta has been axed by the HBO drama so her character Lucy Danzinger will also not be returning.
My favourite Office couple Kelly Kapoor and Ryan Howard are headed for splitsville, but Kelly won’t be lonely for long. The NBC comedy has cast Heroes alum Sendhil Ramamurthy as Kelly’s new love interest. “[Ryan and Kelly] go through a heart-wrenching break-up,” B.J. Novak tells TV Guide. “[They] end up becoming bitter enemies in the office when she falls in love with an Indian doctor. He’s very handsome and a much, much better match for Kelly than Ryan is.” So far Ramamurthy is only slated to appear in one episode this season.
Ryan Murphy stopped by Bravo’s Watch What Happens Live Monday night to reveal some scoop on Season 2 of American Horror Story. On the show Murphy confirmed what everyone had been wondering – Golden Globe winner Jessica Lange will appear in some capacity during the show’s second season. As for the other returning actors Murphy told host Andy Cohen “I’m in negotiations with four of the people who were on last year’s show, and none of them were the Harmons” — which means Connie Britton, Dylan McDermott or Taissa Farmiga will not be returning. Murphy also told Cohen that the upcoming season will take place on the East Coast in a “horror institution.” For more AHS scoop with Ryan Murphy, you can watch the entire episode of Watch What Happens Live HERE. The episode also features Sarah Michelle Gellar dishing on her new show, Ringer.
Adding to last week’s pilot scoop, there are a couple more worth mentioning….
ABC picked up The Smart One, a half-hour comedy starring Portia de Rossi (Arrested Development) and to be executive-produced by Ellen DeGeneres and Lauren Corrao (The Job). The show stars de Rossi as a brilliant and successful woman who begrudgingly goes to work for her less-brainy but more popular sister — a former beauty queen and weather girl who is now, somehow, a big-city mayor.
ABC has also ordered a half-hour single camera comedy pilot starring Mandy Moore. The untitled project centers on newlyweds Annie (Mandy Moore) and Ben (yet to be cast), who open a hip new restaurant in Annie’s hometown bringing her closer to her needy and high maintenance family.
Love American Horror Story and happy that Jessica Lange is still in the show for now. I hate that they killed off Jimmy on Boardwalk empire. It just didn’t make sense
