Did you know that, in addition to being part of a bidding war between Netflix and the eventual winner, Paramount, Warner Bros. also makes movies? It was definitely easy to lose sight of that for a bit, but the latest trailer for the upcoming Supergirl is a nice reminder that there are still movies from WB to look forward to.
Here’s the logline: “Supergirl,” DC Studios’ newest feature film to hit the big screen, will be in theatres worldwide this summer from Warner Bros. Pictures, starring Milly Alcock in the dual role of Supergirl/Kara Zor-El. Craig Gillespie directs the film from a screenplay by Ana Nogueira.
When an unexpected and ruthless adversary strikes too close to home, Kara Zor-El, aka Supergirl, reluctantly joins forces with an unlikely companion on an epic, interstellar journey of vengeance and justice.
Alcock stars alongside Matthias Schoenaerts, Eve Ridley, David Krumholtz, Emily Beecham, and Jason Momoa.
With a cameo from David Corenswet’s Superman helping whet out appetites, I can confirm I’ll be in line to see Supergirl when the film flies into theatres on June 26.
