What’s Going On: Fred again.., Paisley Fields, J Balvin, Yeat, UnityTX

This week’s instalment of What’s Going On is stacked! Three hot new collaborations, two rising stars, and zero filler. Just the good stuff. If you’re looking for what’s next (and what’s already hitting), Biff Bam Pop’s weekly new music roundup is where you need to be. As always, if you dig what you hear, be sure to stream and follow these artists.

Fred again.. – Superstar DJ/producer Fred again.. links up with Jamie T on “Lights Burn Dimmer,” a restless, emotionally charged collaboration that feels both intimate and explosive. Built on big dance floor vibes and raw vulnerability, the track blurs club euphoria with open-hearted storytelling, capturing Fred’s gift for turning feelings into motion. It’s kinetic, human, and alive, another solid entry in Fred’s ever-expanding musical universe.

Paisley Fields – Rising queer-country provocateur Paisley Fields announces Are U Mad At Me. Out May 1, the new album is a genre-fluid, glitter-dusted evolution that refuses to sit still. Paisley’s lead single “parTy girl” cleverly blends country, pop, and synth-driven chaos into a playful but pointed meditation on pleasure, excess, and identity. It’s rebellious, hot, and defiantly queer. We’re always glad to see the country space expanding its horizons, and Fields is living proof of that.

J Balvin – We’ve got another hot new collab. This time, J Balvin, Ryan Castro, and DJ Snake have joined forces on “TONTO.” Big, cinematic, and surprisingly restrained, the track moves with late-night energy, blending melodic precision with street grit and global polish. “TONTO” is sure to soundtrack many nights out, especially as the weather starts to transition into spring.

Yeat – Buzzworthy rapper Yeat linked up with Liverpool sensation EsDeeKid on “Made It On Our Own,” a cross-Atlantic collab that feels both urgent and cinematic. Yeat’s frenetic rage rap crashes into EsDeeKid’s raw scouse energy, forging a track that should get both of their fan bases extra hyped. We haven’t had a great pump-up anthem yet in 2026, and this just might be it.

UnityTX – Nu metal is back, and this time, it doesn’t suck. Dallas hip-hop/metal collective UnityTX are wrecking shit on “STFU,” their most ferocious single yet. The track from their upcoming album Somewhere, In Between…. is pure rage therapy, mixing metal, hip-hop, and hardcore into a brutal examination of burnout and industry pressure. No one right now is doing it like UnityTX.
