I wasn’t expecting such a powerful drama with Sway, but wow!
When a community leader’s brother goes missing, events unfold that force him to look to the people who have his back.

Sway
Sway is a Canadian thriller written and directed by Charlie Hamilton and Zachary Ramelan, and stars Emmanuel Kabongo, who is also a producer on the film. Sway is the first feature film as a producer for lead actor Kabongo. It opens in theatres (Toronto at Cineplex Yonge and Dundas and Cineplex Morningside) beginning Friday, February 6. Sway (Emmanuel Kabongo) is a respected Black community leader. He has rebuilt the city where he and his brothers, Cy (Tony Ofori) and Richie (Lovell Adams-Gray), grew up. Cy, under the protective arm of Sway, is a rising football star who is on the way to becoming number one in the upcoming NFL draft. Sway is married and has a son.
Sway, who had an important business deal in the works, along with a dedication to a neighbourhood coach, wakes up in his condo with no memory of what happened while he was out with Richie, or how an unknown woman, Jade (Brittany Raymond), winds up in his bed. He has no memory of bringing her back to his place. And if this is enough to upset the apple cart, there is a reporter, Lisa (Mishael Morgan), outside his door waiting to do a magazine interview.
Sway tries to keep his cool as he sings his own praises to Lisa, but the situation gets worse as Sway learns that his brother is missing, and in danger from a person called Rez (Paul Amos), and that Jade is now blackmailing him. As he calls his close friends in to help, he begins to see a connection.
Conclusion
Sway is an intense film, and Emmanuel Kabongo’s acting is outstanding. Sway has secrets, and it has to do with murder and the tribute to a beloved coach who had been murdered. The film hits the ground running, and you’d better not blink or you will miss the clues.
Sway has earned multiple Best Picture and Best Actor awards for Kabongo and Mishael Morgan. You will be able to watch Sway on Apple TV and Prime.
Granny gives Sway and Emmanuel Kabongo five stars.
