Back in the Fall of 2025, Anya and I went to see our friends in Broken Social Scene play a gig in London, Ontario. It was Anya’s first proper BSS show, and we had a good spot front row on the rail.
Opening for BSS that night was London-based band Status/Non-Status, and both Anya and I loved them. Led by singer/guitarist Adam Sturgeon, the band had an incredible wall-of-sound feel to their music, akin to early Velvet Underground and My Bloody Valentine; at least to my ears. Anya and I had a chance to chat with Adam after the show, and he was a lovely guy.

Today sees the release of new music from Status/Non-Status, “At All,” the band’s first single from their upcoming album, Big Changes, which is due out digitally February 6 and physically in March from You’ve Changed Records. You can check out the video for “At All” below.
You can preorder Big Changes from Status/Non-Status from their Bandcamp here, and visit their official website here.
