There’s a lot of fun that comes out of Nintendo’s games. I’m talking about the ones that come from in-house, proprietary games you can only play on the Nintendo Switch, the Switch 2, as is the case with Kirby and the Forgotten Land – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Star-Crossed World.

Here’s the log line: Explore 3D platforming stages as you discover a mysterious world, save the kidnapped Waddle Dees, and defeat the ferocious Beast Pack. Hope you’re hungry for a big adventure!
• Enhance your adventure by changing your version of the game to the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition with this upgrade pack
• Join Kirby in an upgraded 3D platforming adventure and uncover the mystery of the meteor—only on Nintendo Switch 2
• Explore a mysterious world with remnants of a past civilization, all with enhanced resolution and frame rates
• Use Kirby’s amazing abilities, including some all-new Mouthful Modes, to clear a trail through uncharted territory in a brand-new story
As soon as I started playing Kirby and the Forgotten Land, I was immediately swept into Kirby’s world and the game. It was instantly fun and playable, and you didn’t need to be a rocket scientist to figure out the game mechanics. That aspect is so important for me as a gamer; I’m someone who really doesn’t want to have to guess how to do core aspects of a game. Quick onscreen help messages are great, and Kirby offers those up, but I didn’t need them. I just dove right in.
Visually, Kirby and the Forgotten Land is instantly familiar to longtime Nintendo fans, folks who have played previous Kirby titles or Mario titles. I don’t know all the lore behind the Kirby character, mind you, but that doesn’t matter at all when playing Kirby and the Forgotten Land. The game is just so instantly fun that one doesn’t need backstory or references to fall in love with Kirby and the game itself.
And that’s what takes me back to my original thought. Along with their classic and innovative consoles, fun games seem to be the creative motivator for Nintendo, and we should be thankful they’re putting out titles like Kirby and the Forgotten Land – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Star-Crossed World. If you’ve got a Nintendo Switch 2, this one is (another) fun and no-brainer purchase.
