Hasbro has recently relisted a couple of Marvel Legends that you might have missed on their initial run: Ghost Rider and Dr Doom!
For fans who missed out, this is great news. They get to fill holes in their collection at retail prices without needing to hunt all over God’s green earth.
For fans who look at their collections as investments, this news is no bueno. More supply means less demand and, in turn, drives down the value.
Me? I thrive on watching the chaos of the secondary market imploding. I gave up collecting as an investment a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away.
Hasbro has made the rerelease practice a lot more common over the last couple of years. I’d love to say that FOMO is a thing of the past, but there are seemingly no rules around what products will receive additional production runs or how fans can make their voices heard on what they’d like to get another crack at. With that in mind, here are my top five Hasbro items I missed that I’d like to get in my collection.

Marvel Legends Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 Yondu
Guardians is one of my favourite MCU franchises, and yet the figures were either not that great or hard to find in my area. I’ve managed to cobble together a core team I’m happy with, but Mary Poppins has proved elusive. Rooker’s Yondu figure is so good, I’d probably take 2 to display both head sculpts.

Star Wars Black Series Tauntaun
This one might be the biggest head scratcher for me. The only Black Series Tauntaun ever released was 10 years ago in a two-pack with Han Solo in Hoth Gear (naturally). How we celebrated the 40th Anniversary of The Empire Strikes Back without a rerelease or an update feels like someone at Hasbro has a fear of making money, and we know that’s not possible. We don’t need another Luke or Han in Hoth gear, but the lack of Tauntauns is a missed opportunity on their part and a huge hole on my Hoth shelf.

GI Joe Classified Series Arctic Mission Storm Shadow
This is one I’m fortunate to have in the collection, but I know plenty of folks who missed out on this Amazon exclusive from early in the line. This was the first Storm Shadow to hit Classified, and despite the initial gripes that they went Ninja Force over traditional, it ended up being a great figure. They could throw it on a hot pink Ninja Force Retro Card, and it would sell like crazy.

Marvel Legends Ghost Rider
Yes, I started this article off by referencing a Ghost Rider rerelease, but I’d prefer the ride to go along with him. I’m actually surprised the Marvel Legends team hasn’t given us the all-red Hell Cycle and Blue Johnny Blaze, similar to what they offered in the Retro 3.75 line. Maybe I should take a look at that Mezco that keeps going on discount… then again, if I’m going to spend that much, let’s go big with our final selection!

HasLab Engine of Vengeance
With the reveal of the Marvel Legends Mephisto (available through 8/26/2025), we’ve essentially received all three of the unlocks from the Engine of Vengeance HasLab campaign. Goblin Queen might be a bit of a reach as we got the X-Men 97 version, but it’ll work in a pinch. That being said, maybe it’s time to revisit the Engine of Vengeance?

HasLab math has always been a little fuzzy. Most people I talked to didn’t back the EoV due to the price. They didn’t feel it was worth the cost if all of the unlocks weren’t included. If we can’t rework the price, can we revisit the unlocks? This would be an excellent place for my previously suggested all-red Hell Cycle and Blue Johnny Blaze. That’s a straight-up repaint. The Blackheart Build-A-Figure was a little tricky to assemble if you were buying the figures at retail. That would be cool. If you want to revisit that Goblin Queen from the original offering, I wouldn’t say “No”.
As someone who didn’t back the first time around, I think the time might be right to give it another go. Then again, maybe Mephisto’s abs have me ready to make a deal with the Devil for some kick ass flame effects…
