Look! Up in the sky! It’s a bird! It’s a plane! No, it’s Figure Friday!
Yes, Figure Friday…strange visitor from the internet here to tell you about how there’s a Superman action figure for all seasons…and all budgets.
With all that being said, I’m quite looking forward to the new Super-flick since it seems to have a chance of being the best Superman film in about four decades or so. While I won’t be racing to the theater, faster than a speeding bullet to see it I hope to catch it early next week.
Now on to some super toys!

McFarlane Toys is showing up with a strong figure offering for the mass market. This figure is a notch or two above the Spin Master action figures that are aimed at, you know, actual kids. The sculpt is decent enough, and it comes with a pair of alternate hands. I’ve heard some collectors bemoan that it doesn’t come with two fists, but if you’re any collector worth your salt, you probably have a bin of spares that can be used to fix that problem.
Interestingly, this version is essentially the mid-tier Superman figure in McFarlane’s line. There’s a version that’s exclusive to Ross outlet stores that ditches the extra hands and trading card for a lower price point, and there’s a super-deluxe edition that comes complete with extra hands, faces, a wired cloth cape, and Krypto. I’m mildly irked that the cloth cape isn’t standard across all the various editions since a moulded rubber cape just looks…off.
Superman (2025) Dynamic 8ction Heroes DAH-149 Superman Action Figure

Next up is Beast Kingdom’s version of Superman, and I have to admit I’m not too familiar with this brand. I’ve been seeing Beast Kingdom’s name a whole bunch out there, and it clearly looks like they showed up to play with this figure.
Measuring at just over 8 inches, this figure comes with four sets of hands, a cloth cape, Krypto, and a whole mess of articulation. The figure is a bit more expensive than the McFarlane edition, but really appears to be a premium action figure, and I’d be curious to get my hands on one to see how it measures up.
Superman (2025) S.H.Figuarts Superman Action Figure

Here we have the figure that I’m extremely likely to buy since I’ve gone all-in on the S.H. Figuarts brand. I’ve also taken a solemn vow to my FF co-writer Josh to not discuss the head sculpt of the figure or liken its appearance to any currently working character actors. All I can say is that, hopefully, the final product may vary from some of the promotional shots.
I am, however, a bit taken aback by the steep $99 USD price tag. While it’s true that this figure is hyper-detailed and super-articulated, it “only” comes with two sets of hands and no alternate heads. My plan is to wait for the price to drop on one of the big online retailers instead of preordering. The Figuarts Wolverine figure dropped to about 50% of its original price after it was released, so lessons were learned on my part.
Superman (2025) MMS812 Superman & Krypto 1/6th Scale Collectible Figure Set

And finally, for the man who has everything… the Hot Toys Superman and Krypto set. There’s really not much I can say about this other than it’s $300 and some kind of dark magic has been used to capture David Corenswet’s essence. This one is for serious collectors only.
