In what I’d consider to be an interesting turn of events, Hellboy: The Crooked Man is skipping theatres in North American and heading to VOD in just two weeks times.
Hellboy and a rookie B.P.R.D. agent in the 1950s are sent to the Appalachians, where they discover a remote community dominated by witches and led by the sinister local demon, the Crooked Man.
The film, a story of the title character’s early days, is based on an outstanding mini-series written by Hellboy creator Mike Mignola and illustrated by Richard Corben. This adaptation is penned by Mignola, Christopher Golden, and director Brian Taylor, and isn’t connected to the original Guillermo del Toro films or the 2019 reboot. The title character in Hellboy: The Crooked Man is portrayed by Jack Kesy.
Folks in North American should be able to rent or buy Hellboy: The Crooked Man beginning Tuesday, October 8 – a find treat for Halloween month.

I was looking forward to seeing that in theatres. Too bad. Maybe small artsy cinemas will play it.
