Figure Friday: Hasbro Pulse Con Wrap Up

Hasbro had its annual Pulse Con event last week, showcasing upcoming products from each of their brand teams. There were some great reveals that led to several preorders going up over the past week. Let’s take a look at some of the highlights.

G.I. Joe Classified Series Crimson Strike Team: Baroness, Tomax, & Xamot

This Crimson Strike Team – Baroness, Tomax, & Xamot figure set contains 27 character-inspired accessories including 2 pairs of glasses, alternate hair and 2 alternate heads for Baronness, 3 figure stands, and 19 golden weapon accessories. As tensions within the leadership of Cobra continue to rise, the Baroness in alliance with Tomax and Xamot has formed an elite squad of troopers loyal only to them. Combined, they are the Crimson Strike Team, ready to seize control in the board room or battlefield.

I’ve really been fighting the repaint trend, but when they’re this good, it’s hard to resist. It also doesn’t hurt when they pack in so many different looks for one of my favorite female villains. I’ll bet this Baroness will look fantastic with Profit Director Destro.

Marvel Legends The Amazing Spider-Man & Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man

The Marvel Legends team released a three pack of all the Spider Men from No Way Home last year. At the time, they wanted to get the product out as soon as possible and didn’t have the likenesses to include the unmasked heads for Andrew Garfield or Tobey Maguire. Now that they do, we’re getting single carded releases for both The Amazing Spider-Man and Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man. Both head sculpts feature solid likenesses to the actors. If you missed out on the three pack, now’s your chance to round out your MCU Spider shelf with the unmasked heads as a bonus.

Marvel Legends Spider-Man: No Way Home Doc Ock

I understand it’s frustrating when one of the biggest movies of all time is in theaters and all you want to do is buy toys that aren’t available, but I’d rather wait and get a great figure like this than a rush job that leaves you wanting more. This Doc Ock is impressive. The bendy wire tentacles look to be the best set we’ve received to date. Featuring multiple articulated tentacle claws as well as dedicated open tentacles to pose Doc in midair. If I can’t have a Boogie Nights Alfred Molina figure, I’ll settle for this one.

Marvel Legends Spider-Man: No Way Home Green Goblin

This might be the reveal of Pulse Con for me. The Willem Dafoe head sculpt is incredible. The fact you get a fantastic figure and glider along with it is just gravy. I really liked how they redesigned the Green Goblin costume and went away from the mask, but I dig the fact they still included the mask in this deluxe offering. From what they showed off about the glider, it appears to have some good posing options and doesn’t restrict you to one static pose. I appreciate the attention to detail and can’t wait to get this one in the photo booth!

Star Wars The Black Series Baylan Skoll and Shin Hati

The Ahsoka series on Disney Plus has been a messy good time that I’ve been able to find more pleasure than frustration. One of the high points has been the new characters of Baylan Skoll and Shin Hati. Mysterious not quite Sith, not quite Jedi that have aligned themselves with Thrawn but to what end? It’s bittersweet that Ray Stevenson won’t get to experience the love that he would have received for his portrayal of Baylan Skoll. Hasbro has done a great job with the likeness for both actors, but Stevenson’s likeness in particular is a real standout. It will be interesting to see how this season of Ahsoka wraps up so we can find out what role these two characters will play, if any, in the story that follows.

Star Wars The Black Series Starkiller & Troopers

The last reveal I want to feature is Starkiller & Troopers from The Force Unleashed. I always try to keep my Figure Friday columns pretty positive. I don’t like to dwell on the negative. That being said, this is an awesome deluxe Starkiller figure. To ask someone to pay $111 for that figure and two repacked Stormtroopers is a big ask. The figures are still available if you’d like to get what appears to be an incredible deluxe Starkiller figure.

Have a great day!
