In The Game: Audeze’s Mobius Headphones Make Gaming and Tunes Sound Great

Over the last few months, I’ve been playing video games on my PS4 and Nintendo Switch using Audeze’s Mobius Headphones. They’ve also been part of my music listening regiment when I want to have a more intimate experience. While the last few years I’ve been mostly on budget headphones for gaming and and using Air Pods with my iPhone and iPad, it was extremely cool to dive into a more immersive listening experience with a high-end set of headphones.

The Mobius headphones may look big, but they fit snugly on your ears, without feeling heavy. When gaming, I genuinely felt surrounded by my environment. Move your head around and the sound moves with you, in what feels like a total Surround Sound experience. The headset has been wired to my controllers, so I’m not quite getting the full effect the Mobius offers for Mac and PC gamers, but truthfully, sound-wise I’ve never used a better pair of headphones for gaming. You’re definitely getting your money’s worth here.

Now, about listening to tunes. Simply put, music sounds absolutely incredible on the Mobius. I feel like I’m in the room with the musicians when I’ve listening with the Mobius. I don’t know how I can ever go back to in ear headphones after using these. I especially notice details with music I’m extremely familiar with, classic albums like Dark Side of the Moon and Abbey Road. While the Mobius may be focused on the gaming community, I think audiophiles can’t go wrong with these.
