If you’re not playing Fragger, you should start now!

My brother turned me on to this little game called Fragger, he said he was hopelessly addicted to it. I was skeptical, but because I’m a regular subway traveller, I’m constantly looking for something to make the mundane trips go by faster. I downloaded it, and it became crystal clear why he was so addicted to it, I couldn’t put it down!

The premise of the game is simple, it’s basically angry birds with a twist: you’re killing enemies by blowing them up with grenades. But the beauty of the game is in the puzzles. Some levels require you to blow things up in order, otherwise you’ll be blocked by some immovable object that you can’t blast through and you’ll lose. You throw the grenade using a power meter, and you aim by swiping your finger up and down.

Getting the hang of aiming and control of the velocity is your main objective and does take some practise. But the levels progress in a way so that when you got it all down, the levels get harder or add another aspect that you need to figure out. There are nearly 30-40 levels per section, and there are a lot of sections. There is a LOT of gameplay here, well worth the .99 cent app price.

You download the app and the first 40-ish levels initially, which is nice because it keeps the first download short and sweet, and as you progress through the levels, you download them on the fly. The average download size is about 6MB, which won’t put too much of a strain on your data. They download quick and you can get right back to fragging!

All in all, it’s a great time waster, and extremely addictive. Good physics, a decent soundtrack and optional HD visuals will make this a great looking addition to your iOS device. If you’ve played it, let us know what you think!
