Biff Bam Pop’s DVD Tuesday

The Royal Wedding: it’s been a month and those crazy kids Will and Kate are still married. Way to go! If you didn’t watch the extensive coverage of the lavish ceremony or simply want to relive the whole thing over and over, a DVD is now available for you royal watching pleasure.

Gnomeo and Juliet: a surprise hit at the box office earlier this year, Gnomeo and Juliet is based on Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, except with gnomes. The film stars the voice talents of James McAvoy and Emily Blunt, alongside noted thespians Ozzy Osbourne and Hulk Hogan. Reviews were mixed, but this is one kids will likely enjoy.

I Am Number Four: adapted from the book by Pittacus Lore (a pseudonym for Jobie Hughes and James Frey), this sci-fi flick targeting teens was supposed to make Alex Pettyfer a star and usher in a new film franchise. Instead, it was a critical and commercial bust, making less than $60 million in North America. A sequel is highly unlikely.

Fran Lebowitz in Public Speaking: this HBO documentary on noted author Lebowitz was directed by Martin Scorsese. The film consists of interviews and clips of the authors speaking engagement. Considering some of Scorsese’s best work is in documentaries (The Last Waltz and No Direction Home), this could be an interesting watch.

TV Shows On DVD:

Covert Affairs: Season One
Melissa and Joey: Season One, Part One
