DVD Preview: Superman/Batman: Public Enemies

As a devoted Marvel Zombie, it’s often hard for me to admit it when DC supersedes the House of Ideas. Luckily, it doesn’t happen very often. But credit where credit is due, the animated offerings from DC continue to shine brighter than virtually anything Marvel has offered over the past few years (the exception being the Hulk vs Wolverine portion of the Hulk VS release from earlier this year).

We’ll see if the trend of high class DC releases like Justice League: New Frontier, Wonder Woman, Superman:Doomsday and others tomorrow with the release tomorrow of Superman/Batman: Public Enemies, based on the Jeph Loeb/Ed McGuiness storyline from a few years ago. I reread that run a few months ago and while I found it over the top and silly, it was also somewhat fun. The DVD adaptation looks to me more of the same. In its definite favour is guaranteed stellar voice work from stand-bys Kevin Conroy (Batman), Tim Daly (Superman) and Clancy Brown (Lex Luthor).
