Hot on the heels of their successful Street Fighter II figures, Jada Toys are keeping the Capcom classics coming with Wave 1 of their Mega Man figures. I’ve been looking forward to this line since the figures were announced last year. Can Jada continue their winning ways? Let’s take a look at the inaugural wave of Jada’s Mega Man 1:12 Scale Action Figures.

From the groundbreaking video game, Mega Man, comes the iconic robot character action figures in 1:12 scale by Jada Toys. With his mega buster arm cannon, Mega Man will travel to the ends of the earth to take out the menacing mad scientist Dr. Wily, and now you can get in on the action. This Mega Man figure comes equipped with alternate hands, head, blaster effect and stand.
Mega Man (or Rock Man for our friends in Japan) was one of the standout characters from the early Nintendo Entertainment System days. He even ranked high enough to be included in the Saturday Morning cartoon series Captain N: The Game Master. Jada has captured The Blue Bomber perfectly. He checks in at about 4.5 inches tall. It’s nice to get a good quality line of figures in a smaller size. Jada hasn’t cut any corners with articulation. Mega Man can hit some great poses and moves really well. The Blaster cannon can be used on either arm and alongside the blast effect provide for lots of display options. I might be getting slightly ahead of myself, but I can’t wait to get Rush to go alongside of Mega.

Fire Man comes equipped with alternate hands, head, fire storm accessories, and stand. This fierce robot has the power to melt any object in its path.
Fire Man has one of the most iconic looks of any of the evil robots. With a torch for a head and two flaming fists. Jada does a nice job with their translucent plastic. The flame effect is bright and has a gradient appearance that works quite well. The alternate head gets you some nice side eye action. If there’s a minor complaint it’s that they didn’t find a way to port in the fire storm effect into Fire Man’s hands.

Under extreme weather conditions, Ice Man knows how to keep his cool, and with his ice slasher, he’s ready for anything. He comes equipped with alternate hands, head, ice accessory, and stand
Maybe I’ve been watching too much Avatar: The Last Airbender, but Ice Man looks like he’d be right at home with Sokka, Katara and the rest of the Southern Water Tribe. I always thought it was a bit odd that Ice Man shoots his Ice Slasher from his mouth, though it makes for some funny alternate head options. I don’t think we’ve ever had a pair of “inhale” and “exhale” heads until now. Ice Man gets the best effect of the wave in my opinion. The Ice Slasher in icy translucent blue looks fantastic as light catches it.
All three of these figures are a lot of fun if you’re a Mega Fan. Jada continues to churn out high quality figures that look great and articulate pretty well for the size and scale. They’ll have me for most of the first two games if the line makes it that far. If Wave 1 is any indication of what’s to come, that shouldn’t be a problem.
