What’s Going On Exclusive Interview: Midnight Foolishness Unleash Their New Single “Quitters Get Nothing”

Brooklyn-based rockers Midnight Foolishness are back with a bang, gearing up to unleash their latest sonic adventure upon eager ears. With their newest single, “Quitters Get Nothing,” the band kicks off a new chapter in their career and showcases why they’re ones to watch in the alternative pop-punk scene. The new song delivers raw energy and heavy unapologetic authenticity. The band faced immeasurable loss while recording their new material, as the band’s bassist Brandon Infamy and frontman Robert Corbino’s ex-girlfriend both passed away. As they prepare to drop their upcoming album, Hands Up Chin Down, we had the pleasure of having a quick chat with the Corbino to dive into what fans can expect from the band’s new music, how overcoming loss impacted their recording process, and more.

JG: Congrats on the release of “Quitters Get Nothing.” Can you tell us a bit about the single?

Midnight Foolishness: It’s pretty much about a lot of my friends getting older and giving up what they love to do!

JG: The music video seems to be a strong statement to kick off this new chapter for the band. What’s the story behind the video?

Midnight Foolishness: It’s actually about how people use alcohol to take advantage of other people and not realizing how it makes someone feel.

JG: How does the sound of “Quitters Get Nothing” reflect the sound of the forthcoming album Hands Up Chin Down.

Midnight Foolishness: It’s a heavy song. The whole album has a lot of variety and there is a cover of “MDMA” by Emmure as well!

JG: You’ve got two pretty big shows coming up in Brooklyn and Scranton. How do you think “Quitters Get Nothing” will be received live? Are you excited to get out there and play it and maybe more of your new material?

Midnight Foolishness: We have a great time in both areas, Brooklyn is our hometown so we always expect a big turnout!

JG: You faced a lot of loss while creating this album. How did that impact the process of putting the album together?

Midnight Foolishness: It really slowed us down. It made me not want to do anything for a while, and it still does sometimes.

JG: What can fans expect from Midnight Foolishness next? More singles, a tour, etc?

Midnight Foolishness: More singles, a tour for the summer, festivals… hopefully a bright future!
