Trailer Time: Marvel’s Phase 1 & 2: A Look Back

As I’m sure you know, Guardians of the Galaxy, the latest film in the Marvel Entertainment line of films, was released last night. Look for it to have a big weekend at the box office – our predictions for it (and the other films available this weekend) will be posted later this afternoon.

In the meantime, Marvel Entertainment has just released a five-plus minute trailer detailing the first and second phases of their movie franchises.

It’s an amazing tapestry of cinematic storytelling that catches you up to where we are right now. Catch it after the jump!

So. Here we are. About to enter Marvel Entertainment’s Phase 3 of superhero storytelling. It all begins with Guardians of the Galaxy. It’ll continue with next year’s Avengers: Age of Ultron and Ant-Man. There will be a Captain America 3, Thor 3, a Guardians of the Galaxy 2 and there are rumours, finally, of Doctor Strange (most recently starring, potentially, Joaquin Phoenix). And, of course, an Avengers 3.

Waiting in the wings, is the mad Titan himself, Thanos. Expect him to be the big threat in Avengers 3.

What else will we see in Phase 3? Black Panther? Namor? Hulk? Winter Soldier (AKA Captain America 4)? Or will they be Phase 4?

It’s going to be a fascinating half-decade to come, isn’t it?
