31 Days of Horror 2021 Presents Trailer Time: Radio Silence’s ‘Scream’

Fresh off the presses (do they press trailers?) is the first trailer from the hotly-anticipated Scream update from the Radio Silence (Ready or Not, V/H/S, Southbound) crew of directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin & Tyler Gillett and producer Chad Villella from a screenplay by James Vanderbilt (Zodiac, The Amazing Spider-Man) and Guy Busick (Ready or Not, Castle Rock).

The violent trailer re-introduces us to Sidney Prescott (Neve Campbell), Dewey Riley (David Arquette), Gail Weathers (Courtenay Cox), and Deputy Judy Hicks (Marley Shelton), as well as, naturally, our old pal Ghostface. The film’s official synopsis reads as follows, and it seems that Ghostface is coming after the loved ones of the original film’s characters:

“Twenty-five years after a streak of brutal murders shocked the quiet town of Woodsboro, a new killer has donned the Ghostface mask and begins targeting a group of teenagers to resurrect secrets from the town’s deadly past.”

The film is set for release on January 14, 2022 and stars Jack Quaid (The Boys), Melissa Barrera (In The Heights) and Jenna Ortega (You), with Dylan Minnette (Goosebumps), Mason Gooding (Let It Snow), Kyle Gallner (Ghosts of War), Jasmin Savoy Brown (“Love”) and Mikey Madison (Once Upon a Time in Hollywood).
