Will Neighbors Take Down The Amazing Spider-Man 2 – Biff Bam Pop’s Box Office Predictions

As the summer movie season is now upon us, this weekend’s battle between last week’s champ and the biggest new release is shaping up to be something fierce. Who will come out on top? Here’s our prediction:

On the heels of last summer’s breakout R-rated hit This Is The End comes Neighbors, once again staring Seth Rogen, this time alongside Zac Efron, in a film about a couple whose new neighbours happen to be a frat house. The buzz on this film is absolutely huge, and some critics are saying it could be this generation’s Animal House. Couple that with the unmistakeable face that interest in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is far from high, with reviews even worse, and Neighbours has a solid chance of claiming the number one spot at the box office, which would be considered a huge upset. Look for a tight race, with Spidey just barely squeezing by with $39 million, with Neighbours close behind in second place with $38 million.

As for the rest of the top five, The Other Woman will be in third with $10 million, Heaven is for Real should hit fourth place with $6 million, while new release Mom’s Night Out will close things out in fifth with $5.5 million.
