‘Coco’ remains on top of the box office, ‘Justice League’ continues to drop

It was a fairly safe and predictable weekend at the box office, as there were no major releases making waves. Here’s what went down:

Coco remained at the top spot for a second weekend in a row, bringing in an estimated $27.8 and raising its two week total to an strong $110.4 million.

Way behind it in second place with $15.8 million is Justice League, which is a couple million short of crossing the $200 million. It’s likely the film won’t even make $250 million in North America, a disaster following the stellar performance of Wonder Woman.

As for the rest of the top five, Wonder was in third place with $13.2, followed in fourth place by Thor: Ragnarok with $9.36 million. The film should cross $300 million in the next 7 days or so. Closing things out in fifth place is Daddy’s Home 2 with $7.45 million.

So, to recap, here were our predictions:

1) Coco – $28 million
2) Wonder – $15.5 million
3) Justice League – $15 million
4) Thor: Ragnarok – $8 million
5) Murder on the Orient Express – $6.5 million

And here’s how the weekend is estimated to turn out:

2) Justice League – $15.8 million
3) Wonder – $13.2 million
