Will audiences pop by The Visit this weekend?

Can he do it? Can one of the most divisive directors working today make a much needed comeback with audiences. All signs point to yes, but what do WE think? Here’s our prediction:

Oh, M. Night Shyamalan – you used to be the man in Hollywood. The Sixth Sense. Unbreakable. Signs. The Village. People dug them all. Then you had to go and make some uber-crap – The Happening. The Last Airbender. That one with the Smith kid that wasn’t The Karate Kid. But in Tinsel Town, you’re always one big hit away from forgiveness, and it looks like The Visit could be the redemption Night sorely needs. The story is simple – kids go to visit their grandparents, bad stuff happens. Reviews have been passable, which is more than can be said about Night’s last few films, and audiences are definitely looking for some scares as we edge closer to fall. Look for a first place debut for The Visit with $20 million.

As for the rest of the top five, also opening this weekend is The Perfect Guy, a political thriller starring Morris Chestnut and Sanna Lathan,which should claim the second spot with $12 million. War Room will be in third with $6 million, A Walk In The Woods in fourth place with $5 million, while Mission: Impossible Rogue Nation should close things out in fifth place with $4.5 million.

So, to recap, here are our predictions:

2) The Perfect Guy – $12 million
3) War Room – $6 million
4) A Walk In The Woods – $5 million
5) Mission: Impossible Rogue Nation – $4.5 million
