Will Noah Flood Theaters? Biff Bam Pop’s Box Office Predictions

It could be a weekend of biblical proportions, as Darren Aronofsky’s new film hits theatres. Will it resonate? Here’s our prediction:

Take one movie star who excels at larger than life roles. Add in a story that everybody, religious or not, knows. Throw in a director playing with a massive budget for the first time in his career. If all goes well, you have a hit movie called Noah. I’m predicting that the film, which stars Russell Crowe as the title character, will manage to grab bible lovers and disaster film fans this weekend, and should be an easy number one, with a gross of $50 million.

As for the rest of the top five, Divergent will drop to number two with $20 million. Muppets Most Wanted will be in third place with $13 million, with Mr. Peabody & Sherman right behind in fourth with $12 million. The Grand Budapest Hotel, going into wide release this weekend, should close things out in fifth with $8 million.

Don’t expect to see new releases Sabotage and Bad Words anywhere near the top five.
