Director Ari Aster (Midsommar, Beau Is Afraid) ventures into a different kind of horror with Eddington, a modern Western starring Joaquin Phoenix and Pedro Pascal. The clashing political views of the two men running for mayor of Eddington, Ted Garcia (Pascal) and Joe Cross (Phoenix), lead to the town of Eddington being harshly divided. It isn’t long until violence ensues, and things in Eddington begin to spiral out of control. Set in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic, Eddington promises a hard look into the American whirlpool of heated rhetoric, personal freedom, and extremely large weaponry.
Eddington is slated for theatrical release by A24 on July 18, 2025.
