Last week’s episode, “Clear,” found us on a road trip with Michonne, Rick and Carl. Searching for more weapons before the Big Bad Wolf kicks down the door, they zoom down the highway with little time to spare on either walkers or hitchhikers. When they arrived at Rick and Carl’s home town, they discover two things, an old friend still lives there, and yes, you can build a giant mousetrap. Do you remember Morgan? He is the sole survivor, having lost his son to a shuffling family member, plus he’s a little bit crazy. While Rick tries to convince the unhinged Morgan (Lennie James) to join them at the prison, Carl and Michonne go searching for a crib and more. Carl learns that girls do rule, while fighting with the patrons (walkers) of a café. He and Michonne escape with their lives intact and a keepsake. Morgan stays, they leave, and the hitchhiker bites the dust. Meet me after the jump for this week’s episode.
Rick, Daryl and Hershel show up at some type of farm, why? There’s a big meeting between the Governor and Rick. Tension is high and everyone is on edge, but while the Governor and Rick begin talking, a truck pulls up with Milton, Andrea and Martinez (Jose Pablo Cantillo). Andrea rushes in to play ambassador and is told to scram by both men. Big ouch! The Governor hangs up his gun and convinces Rick to do the same, but our rascally rabbit Governor has a weapon hidden under the table. Rick wants the Governor to leave his people alone, each group staying on their own side of the district, but the Governor is only interested in Rick’s surrender. The Governor blames everything that happened to Maggie and Glenn on Merle, and says he had nothing to do with it. But when Rick doesn’t fall for that boloney, the Governor brings up Rick’s baby and that Shane might be the father. What? Andrea has been doing too much pillow talk.
Foot Soldiers
While the big guys talk inside, Daryl and Martinez share a smoke and chat. Hershel and Milton talk about Hershel’s leg and how he lost it. When Milton asks to see the wound, Hershel replies, “I just met you, at least buy me a drink, first.” When walkers stumble upon the scene, but sides join forces to fight them.
Merle, worried about his brother urges a stealth attack on the Governor, but the others, refuse. Merle and Glenn get into a fist fight. Later Merle tries to talk Michonne into going with him to kill the Governor, but she still doesn’t trust him and walks away. Maggie and Glenn get to talk, make up and make love.
Peace Talks
Over drinks, Rick tells the Governor to leave his people alone. The Governor tries to lure Rick into trusting him, but Rick’s no fool. The conversation between the two leaders goes back and forth, until the Governor threatens that if they go to war, Woodbury would win; more soldiers, more guns. The last deal placed on the table by the Governor, concerns Michonne. He will let team prison live, if Rick gives up Michonne. The meeting ends, the smell of war is in the air, and Andr
Conclusion
The summit meeting is over and Rick tells his team to get ready for war, but later tells Hershel about the Governor’s offer; peace for the exchange of a sacrificial lamb (Michonne). Will Rick give up one of his best soldiers?
And, what about the Governor, what mischief is he planning with his henchman? Whatever it is Milton is shocked. From the looks of what happened this week, next week is going to be explosive.
