Experience the Upside Down with ‘Stranger Things: Catalyst’ Sandbox VR

As I write this, we’re just a few hours removed from watching the series finale of Stranger Things. Fellow BBP! writer Anya Scorsone-Burns, her mom, and I went to the movies for New Year’s Eve to experience the finale in a crowded theatre, and it was great fun. Communal watching and reacting is something you can’t replicate on your couch, and hearing yelps, screams and cheers from the audience made staying up past my bedtime well worth it.

If you’re like Anya, a Stranger Things superfan and the world’s biggest Jonathan stan, the end of the series is probably bumming you out. Fear not, though, because there are ways to keep the Hawthorne magic alive, thanks to Sandbox VR, the home of the immersive Stranger Things: Catalyst full-body VR live-action game.

The log line:

Anya and I played Stranger Things: Catalyst last week, and I can safely say it was the most immersive and exciting VR experience I’ve had. The production value is super high, the voice acting is spot on, and having room to stand and move in VR makes for a better experience than some of the sitting games I’ve played.

“I had a really fun time doing this, and would recommend it for any fans of the show!!!” says Anya. “It’s fun that it’s not the main plot, but fans will recognize all the monsters and magic.”

You can take a look at how some of our game played out with the video that came part of the package Sandbox VR put together.

Thanks to the folks at Sandbox VR and Metro Public Relations for the chance to play Stranger Things; Catalyst.
